Instructions:
Important things to remember for the Day of Silence:
1. Register - We need to keep track of how many people participate and how many schools are involved with the event. The only required information is your school name and state. If you would like to include your mailing address to included on our mailing list that is optional. Send your registration info to silent@standtrue.com
2. Promote - Tell your friends about the event and get them to sign up. The more people at your school participating the more powerful it will be. (Don't let numbers stop you, even if you are alone it will make a difference)
3. Talk to your school staff - We suggest that you talk to your school staff and let them know that you will be participating in this day. You have a legal right and the school cannot stop you from doing this or from distributing the flyers. Talk to your teachers and let them know in advance this way you will avoid problems on the day of the event. If you are in a class situation where the teacher is not going to allow you to remain silent, go ahead and speak, we do not want you to jeopardize your grades.
4. Make and arm band and or Red Duct Tape- The red arm band can be made from what ever material you like. Red bandanas are a good option. The red Duct Tape can be bought at most hardware stores. Use a sharpie to write the word life on the Duct tape. Stand True will not be selling arm bands, this event is not about us making money.
5. Print out the flyer - The flyer is available above in PDF from so you can print it and make copies. It is designed with four flyers to a sheet and they are double sided. If you cannot afford to make copies ask your friends or church if they will help with the cost of copies. These flyers are to be used when someone asks you why you are being silent or why you are wearing a red arm band.
6. Pray - This may be number six on this page but it is most important. You should be spending this time in silence to pray. We should not only be praying for the babies and their mothers, but also for the abortion doctors and their staff. There is a list of abortion mills from around the country on the Stand True website ( http://www.standtrue.com/pages/prayerpr

1. The is NO CHARGE! We do not charge anything for registration or sell anything you will need for participating. You can get a piece of red cloth and or red Duct Tape at any Wal-Mart.
2. The flyer is available for free download on the website. You may use other pro-life literature along with the flyer, but the flyer is important to explain what you are doing. If you cannot afford to make copies of the flyer we can help by printing some for you.
3. You are encouraged to come up with other ideas to help get the message out on the day of silence. Some college groups have set up pro-life booths on campus during the day of silence to distribute literature.
4. Invite other Christian clubs on campus to participate, encourage unity between groups to help get the message out.
5. Use the time you are silent for prayer. Prayer is the most powerful tool we have in the fight against abortion. There will be thousands of students across the nation participating with you in solidarity, keep them in your prayers through out the day.
6. Many home-schoolers have participated by going to the mall during the day with their armbands and flyers.
7. Always react in love. There will be people who may not like what you are doing, that may yell at you or call you names. React to them in love.
8. While being silent is an important part of this day, we always want to be aware of opportunities to minister to people. If you meet someone that is struggling with making a decision about abortion or maybe has been hurt by abortion don't hesitate to talk to them. It is more important to be there for them than to be legalistic about being silent.
9. Take Photos! We want to have lots of photos of students participating in the Day of Silence.
10. Trust God for the results. We may not see the immediate results of our work, but God will use us in ways we will never know.
